Notes for Portraits

My character is an abuse victim. She will have her makeup done so that she is bruised and worn out. She will be wearing a torn shirt that is dirtied from blood and dirt.
Tips I'm taking:
  • Having the subject lean away from the camera will make her look defensive.
  • Lighting from below will increase the visibility of her "worn out" character.
  • Having her body face the camera will make her look vulnerable and uncomfortable
  • Having her face turn away from the camera will display embarrassment and having her look directly into the camera will make her look vulnerable.
